Dublin Watersports Jobs - We're hiring!

We are hiring for our watersports centre for the 2023 season

  • Watersports Instructors (sailing, kayaking, SUP, windsurfing)
  • Assistant Watersports Instructors in the above sports which would appeal to those currently training for their instructor qualifications

We have both full-time and part-time roles (min 20 hours) available. Our season starts in May 2023 and runs until the end of September with the majority of sessions happening during the summer holidays from June until the end of August.

May : School Tour Season and weekend work

Away for the summer? We have work available from May onwards. Part-time work available for our school tour season on weekdays and group sessions at weekends. Daytime hours. Can work around college hours.

 

June until the end of August: Summer Camp and evening/weekend work

We run a 12 week long summer camp as well as evening and weekend sessions. Part-time and full-time work available.

Watersports Instructors:

The Role:

As watersports instructor at Surfdock you will be delivering sessions to our customers for group sessions like kids birthday parties, school tours, hen/stag parties, corporate and team events as well as lessons in paddleboarding, kayaking and windsurfing (depending on your qualifications). 

From June to August we also run a watersports summer camp from Monday to Friday for children from 8-16 years. 

We offer two different types of roles – part-time and full-time from May/June until September. 

Our centre is open 7 days a week during the season. Successful candidates have to be available to work weekends and evenings for the duration of our season.

What we are looking for in a candidate:

Qualifications:

You need to be an instructor in at least one of the watersports we teach (paddleboarding, windsurfing, sailing, kayaking). 

Your first aid certificate (Rec 3 or higher) has to be in date. 

You have completed the Safeguarding 1 Child Protection Module. 

You have completed a Manual Handling Course. 

Ideally you have a powerboat certificate or are willing to obtain one before the season starts. 

Experience:

You have a passion for teaching and working with children as well as adults. Previous experience working with children, on summer camps and leading groups are an advantage. 

All our sessions are structured to be fun for the participants, so in the sport you teach you will be responsible for the session plan including the games you want to play, challenges you want to give the participants etc. 

You are confident being in charge of a group of customers of any age. 

You are available to work for the summer from May/June until September. 

All successful candidates will be garda vetted and induction training will be completed before work commences.
